- Porto
Moniz
Situated on the far north coast of Madeira, Porto Moniz is popular
for its natural swimming pools carved into by nature through ancient
lava flow residues. It is also an important wine growing and fishing
region. In August a popular cattle and animal husbandry fair takes
place.
The camping ground in Porto Santo is government controlled and is
by far the most visited by campers to Madeira.

- Montado
do Pereiro
A restricted and controlled nature reserve on the slopes above Funchal,
leading into the mountain tops of Madeira. The scenery and unspoilt
nature in this area of Madeira makes it a must-stay-place for
many campers. At the moment this area requires prior permissions and
authorisation to camp upon. The Madeira Camping
Service is geared towards the formalisation and setting
of any itinerary or stay in this beautiful camp.

- Porto
Santo
Porto Santo is an island off the north side of Madeira. It is
about 45 kilometres away, and a 1/2 or 1 hour ferry boat ride from
the Funchal harbour. It is also a very short hop over by regular 3
times a day flights (about 15 minutes of flight time). The camping
grounds on Porto Santo are also government controlled and open to
the public at large. The camp grounds are neat and spacious and offer
easy access to the wonderfully golden beaches of Porto Santo. The
stay at Porto Santo can be an unforgettable experience. The air is
robustly fresh and at the same time dry. The humidity is low and the
temperatures are perfect for the most part of the year. It is the
sunniest of all the islands in the Madeiran Archipelago. There are
a variety of activities that can be taken up while staying over on
the island: including, amongst many others, donkey rides, paragliding,
swimming, horse riding and walks.
